At your Celebration, your old neighbour Leigh, from No 10, told me he had seen the guys breaking into your Landie some years ago, and had quickly put on some underpants, grabbed a kitchen knife, and rushed out to try to stop the thieves!

Sadly, they were just driving off, with one guy hiding his face. 

But the Police reacted quickly and came swarming into Birch Way. And the culprits were soon caught after using your Landie to try to break a prisoner out of The Mount.

Leigh said he’d wondered for years whether he remembered correctly that your car was used in a ram raid. I told him indeed, he was correct. I, however, did not know that anyone had - very bravely! - tried to stop the thieves. So I asked him if I could share this on your Memorial Page. 😊XXX
